RAVINDER KHAIRA, MD, FAAP – Sacramento Valley Member At Large
Ravinder Khaira, MD is a general pediatrician in Sacramento for 21 years and an Associate Professor in Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine, and Public Health. While forgoing group practice he took over a small private practice in South Sacramento and has grown his clinics to service over 42000 patients at 5 regional clinics in the tri-county area. He is passionate about our specialty and firmly believes that what we do really makes a difference in the lives we serve. With his background in public health, he has served on numerous boards, and provided guidance on operationalizing community outreach on a number of service programs. He is a firm believer of youth participatory action research particularly when referencing social determinants specific to at need populations. He is an active member of the council of medical student education in pediatrics (COMSEP), and the faculty representative from CNU at the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). He developed a novel Ipad based clerkship hub that has been successfully deployed for all 3rd and 4th year medical students that are rotating in their clerkships at CNU. On a personal note, he is an avid exercise buff, and lives for new challenges. He finds his center with his wife and daughters, and relishs time within their company. He is grateful for being reconsidered as a representative for his community and look forward to continue contributing.
