MAYA RAMAN, MD, FAAP – San Francisco Area Director

Maya Raman is a native of the Bay Area and was born and raised in San Jose, though she now calls San Francisco home and is very excited to be the Area Director for the region. After going to college in LA and medical school in Chicago, she was excited to come back to the Bay Area for residency at Children’s Hospital Oakland. During residency, she worked on a CATCH grant focused on a video-based introduction to ABA therapy for families of children with autism, and through the project, she got to know Janice and other AAP members! She graduated last year and is now a hospitalist with UCSF, working primarily in the East Bay at CHO, Eden Medical Center, and San Ramon Regional Medical Center, though she also moonlights in primary care and urgent care in San Francisco (still trying to figure it out – she likes it all!). She’s lived in San Francisco for the last 4 years and is excited to be more involved in the AAP and the pediatric community of SF. For fun, Maya plays tennis, loves reading fiction, crochets, and is working on her baking skills.
