WILLIAM BILLY BURROUGH, MD, MPH, FAAP – COSUP Committee Chair

Dr. Burrough is a primary care pediatrician who cares for children, adolescents and young adults in School Based Health Centers and a Pediatric-focused FQHC in Oakland, CA. He is a staff physician at the Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center’s Medical Unit where he serves as the “Substance Use Champion” for the facility and has expanded their Medications for Opioid Use Disorder program. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the UCSF School of Medicine and is heavily involved in teaching and mentoring trainees at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland Pediatrics Residency program where he completed his residency training and Chief Residency year. He came to California by way of Wisconsin where he completed his undergraduate, medical doctorate and public health degrees at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. His interests lie in early child development and behavioral health, adolescent substance use disorders, and using technology to improve healthcare practices.
