NICOLE ANDERSON – MD, FAAP – Pediatric Insider News Editor

Dr. Nicole Anderson completed her pediatrics residency and neonatology fellowship at UCLA and is now an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University. She works primarily in community-affiliated NICUs, while also caring for critically ill infants at the Level IV NICU at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. She serves as Medical Director of the Intermediate Intensive Care Nursery at Watsonville Community Hospital, where she partners with hospital leadership and pediatric teams to advance equitable, high-quality neonatal care.
Dr. Anderson has a special interest in neurodevelopment and is implementing neurodevelopmental interventions at community NICU sites to support long-term outcomes for high-risk infants. She is also a member of the Board of Directors at Mothers’ Milk Bank of California, supporting its mission to ensure that all infants have access to the life-saving benefits of donor breast milk. She is passionate about community medicine, mentorship, and expanding access to care for vulnerable newborns and their families.
