JAVAY ROSS, MD, FAAP – CME Committee Vice Chair

Dr. Javay Ross is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Division of Pediatric Primary Care at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland (BCH-Oakland). She works at the BCH-Oakland Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) as well as at the Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center, where she is the medical director. Dr. Ross completed her Bachelors of Science at Xavier University of Louisiana and developed a passion for health equity while earning her medical degree at the Drew/UCLA Medical Education Program. She was welcomed into the Children’s Hospital Oakland family in 2009 where she completed her pediatric training and a chief year and she now also works as one of the Associate Program Directors for the residency program.
As an Oakland native, she tries her best to stay connected to her community through the work that she does both professionally as well as outside of medicine. She is a longstanding member of the City of Oakland’s Head Start Advisory Board, is on the Oakland Children’s Fairyland Board of Directors and an active participant in her Oakland based church community. Dr. Ross spends her free time immersed in family, learning and enjoying new recipes and trying to keep up with her active young sons.
