Description:
The California Children’s Services (CCS) Medical Director (Physician III) provides pediatric medical expertise, consultation, and collaborative leadership for a multi-professional team of nurses, social workers, physical and occupational therapists, and community health workers. The Medical Director works closely with CCS-paneled community providers, other county CCS medical directors and consultants, managed care plans, and state CCS program staff.
The Medical Director works primarily in the CCS program, providing specialized professional consultation to program staff and community providers. The Medical Director provides medical expertise in support of program development, and assists in staff and provider training, policy and procedure development, quality improvement, and monitoring and implementation of program goals and standards. The Medical Director leads case conferences, supports care coordination, and participates in county and statewide collaborations to improve health outcomes for children with complex medical needs and their families.
