Cal-MAP: Pediatric Focus Group

Wednesday, September 25, 2024

7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

AAPCA1 invites you to participate in a focus group to be held virtually on Wednesday, September 25 from 7:00 – 8:30PM! The purpose of the focus group is to help us better understand the best ways to meet the needs of pediatricians for psychiatric consultation and training regarding the mental health issues of their patients. As a AAPCA1 pediatrician, you would have a unique view of the needs of your pediatric colleagues.

As you may know, the state has an ambitious Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI), one part of which is the provision of psychiatric consultation and training for pediatric health providers. This new program, called Cal-MAP, is an extension of the UCSF CAPP program. Whether you have used this program or not, we would like to get your opinions about the best ways to inform your pediatric colleagues about the program, and how the program can best serve the needs in your community regarding pediatric mental health services. We would also request that you reach out to a pediatric colleague in your community to participate as well, if possible.

If you or a colleague agree to participate, we would like you to complete a 10-minute questionnaire online, and attend the 1.5-hour virtual session on September 25 at 7 PM. To express our appreciation for your participation, we can send you a check or visa card for $100. We will also send you a summary of the results of the focus groups. This activity is part of a small grant from the national AAP to CAC1 AAP, whose purpose is to build bridges between the new Cal-MAP program and our pediatric community.
