PRATISHTHA CHHABRA, MD, FAAP – Practice Support Task Force Committee Chair

I am an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at UCSF Fresno, where I practice as a pediatric hospitalist in Fresno, California. I  serve as Co-Chair of the Early Career Physician Committee for AAP California Chapter 1. Committed to physician leadership, mentorship, and health equity, I am passionate about supporting pediatricians as they transition from residency to independent practice. In my leadership role, I focuse on promoting professional development, advancing advocacy, and building meaningful connections among early career physicians. I completed my pediatric residency through the Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital L.E.A.D. (Leaders Evaluating and Addressing Disparities) Program, an advocacy and health equity curriculum emphasizing community partnerships, legislative advocacy, and addressing health disparities. In addition to my academic and clinical practice, I provide pediatric care through the Indian Health Service in Shiprock, New Mexico, serving children and families on the Navajo Nation. I also participate in international medical mission work, reflecting my commitment to improving access to care in underserved communities worldwide. My professional interests include inpatient pediatrics, medical education, resident wellness, Indigenous health, and global health. Outside of medicine, I enjoy traveling, hiking, weightlifting, and exploring the outdoors with my husband and our two dogs.
