Pediatric Hospitalist – Newborn

Description:

We are a small, tight knit hospital group that covers the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center newborn service 24/7 and consultation to the Emergency Department. We have a level 2 Nursery and a well newborn service. We are the safety net system for Contra Costa and provide care to a broad range of patients across the county from very diverse backgrounds. We accept all patients without barriers based on their ability to pay. We deliver between 150 – 170 babies per month. We have a strong working relationship with all members of the perinatal care team including; OB, Family Medicine, Anesthesia, Nursing, Social Work, RT and Lactation.

There is a strong culture of safety where every member of the team has an equal voice. We are a family medicine training program and have regularly scheduled residents on our service so teaching is a big part of what we do. We have a strong referral network for transfer of complex newborns, consultations and access to specialty care. We have monthly meetings with Perinatal M&M, peer review, education and ongoing quality improvement. There is a full benefits package. We are recruiting for a full-time member of the group.
